Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3/10/26

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use shhlumber.com, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. We have tried to keep it plain and short.

Who we are

This website is run by DIOMO LTD (“Shhlumber”, “we”, “us”), based in ENGLAND. We are the “controller” of the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at info@shhlumber.com

What we collect

Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive your name (if you give it), your email address and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically

When you visit, our web hosting provider’s servers record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages requested and the date and time. This is used to deliver and secure the site.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Google Search Console, set up through the Site Kit plugin, to understand how people find and use the site. This may involve cookies and information such as your approximate location, device, and the pages you view. Where the law requires consent, we only use analytics cookies if you accept them through our cookie banner.

The Sleep Quiz

The Sleep Quiz runs in your browser. We do not ask for your name or email address to take it, and we do not store your answers on our servers.

What we do not collect

We do not currently run user accounts, comments, a newsletter or an online shop. If that changes, we will update this policy before we start collecting that information.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. WordPress may set cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work and stay secure, for example when the site administrator logs in. Other cookies, such as analytics cookies, are only set with your consent where the law requires it. You can change your choice through the “Manage consent” button at the bottom right of every page (see our Cookie Policy for details), and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the site may not work as well.

How and why we use information

  • To reply to you when you contact us. Legal basis (UK and EU): legitimate interests, and steps at your request.
  • To run, secure and fix the site. Legal basis: legitimate interests in keeping the site working and safe.
  • To understand and improve the site through analytics. Legal basis: your consent.
  • To meet legal obligations where required.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers who help us run the site, and only as needed:

  • Our web hosting provider, InMotion Hosting, which stores the site and its server logs.
  • Google, if analytics is enabled, as described above.
  • Authorities or advisers where the law requires it, or to protect our rights.

Links to other sites, such as shops, are run by other organisations with their own privacy policies. We encourage you to read them. If we ever earn a commission from a link, we will make that clear next to it.

International transfers

Our hosting provider and Google may process information in countries outside the UK and the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as approved standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

How long we keep information

  • Emails and messages: up to 12 months after the conversation ends, unless we need to keep them longer to meet legal obligations.
  • Server logs: for the period set by our hosting provider.
  • Analytics data: for the retention period configured in our analytics settings.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or to your local data protection authority.

If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and use, to ask us to delete or correct it, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Elsewhere, you may have similar rights under local law. To use any of these rights, email us at info@shhlumber.com. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no website or internet connection is completely secure.

This site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
